Photocross rules
The competition involves taking photos on given themes on a fixed date.
The winners are those that produce the best photos in the shortest time.
The competition is open to all, registration via the photocross website with entree payment made on the day.
1.General information
1.1.The photocross is a competition which associates creativity and rapidity with the technical skills of photography.
1.2. The aims of the organising photocross team are:
- to add an active and inventive aspect to holidays
- to increase interest is the art of photography
- to develop participants creative skills
- to promote and popularise and original type of competition
1.3. Terms
- The Cross designates the indications relating to the photographic aspect (object, sentiment, situation, action...all subjects of material or non-material order)
- The Cross-list covers all technical information, the rules and their application.
- The Programme is a document containing the following information: date, duration of the competition, place, composition of the organising group, entry conditions, prizes, sponsors , composition of the jury, control times and possible adaptations to the regulations, subject to each stage of the competition.
- The Crosser is the participant in the competition, who has paid an entry fee and has received the cross-list.
2. Participation in the Photocross
2.1 Each team may be composed of from 1 to 6 persons maximum, with no distinction made for age or sex. The term “team” therefore applies to 1 person or to a composed group.
2.2 Cameras may be either digital or film.
2.3 Means of transport for photocross teams is not restricted.
2.4 To partake in the competition, registration can be made on the official website www.photcross.fr or in-situ as per the competition programme.
2.5 The organisers reserve the right to refuse entrants, or to exclude a team for the following reasons:
- excess of alcohol
- non respect of competition rules
- bad behaviour towards the organisers, sponsors or other participants
2.6 The organisers reserve the non exclusive rights to use the photographs taken during the Photocross to promote an activity. The authors of the photographs also reserve the same rights.
- Participation in the competition implies total agreement with the rules of the Photocross as per the articles in the Programme.
3. Financing
3.1 The Photocross is not a commercial business.
3.2 Financing of competitions is assured by the organising committee, entry fees, sponsored actions or other financial income.
3.3 Entry fees must be paid locally before the start of the Cross as per the competition programme.
4. Description of competition rules
4.1 At the start of the competition, each team will receive a Cross-list and will acknowledge reception thereof.
4.2 The team is obliged to keep the Cross-list with them for the duration of the competition.
4.3 The order of execution of the subjects is totally free, unless otherwise stipulated in the Programme.
4.4 The number of photos taken is not restricted. The number of photos to be presented for the competition is detailed in the Programme
4.5 Each team must fulfil the conditions indicated in the Cross-list and the programme and be present at the arrival point at a given time. Teams finishing after the control time will be disqualified.
4.6 The arrival time, fixed by the organisers and the location where the competition ends are stipulated in the Programme.
4.7 During the competition, participants must follow the competition rules and any instructions given by members of the organising committee. Their failure to do so will lead to the disqualification of the team.
4.8 On arrival, the teams must produce their photographs in digital form.
4.9 In the event of disqualification, the entry fee will not be refunded.
5. The Jury
5.1 The organisers select the jury from artistic and cultural personalities and professional photographers.
5.2 The procedure which will determine the winning team is described in the competition Programme.
6. Technical equipment
6.1 Obligatory equipment for each team is as follows:
- A film camera with a virgin film or a digital camera with an empty memory.
- A fully charged mobile phone
